Fouras
Another camping car park, this time with showers and toilets.  We chose this location because it was right at the beach and not to far to the village.  When we arrived we didn’t do much on account of the heat, but when we checked the beach it was practically deserted, strange?  The tide was fully out, high tide at 21:45.  We rode into town in the evening and had an expensive ice cream on the beach.  We decided to go to the beach in the morning at around 10:00. So down to the beach, set up and into the water.  But it was only possible to go knee deep before you were walking in mud.  So had to make do with a sit-down at the edge. Bit of a fail.  However we had a nice shower and sat about under the shade of the tree.  We planned to go into town about 17:00 and have a swim there.  The town was similar, dictated by the tide.  However, and we were right beside this last night, but it must have been covered by the tide.  There is an outdoor pool that holds water when the tide is out.  The beach was packed and we enjoyed a lovely swim just at the end of the heat of the day.  John walked the short distance and brought back two pizzas and we enjoyed them on a bench at the sea front.  We cycled home and packed up the bikes we will decide where to go in the morning.  We found the good spot a little late, there is a lesson there for us.
La Faute-Sur-Mer
This was a strange one, Camping car aire just outside Faute Port.  A see side town much like port rush. We had booked this one to be sure of a place and intended to stay a second night.  On the map it was close to the beach and not too far from town.  On the way in John noticed a laundry close to a roundabout.  We arrived at the site but our entry code didn’t work. A guy saw us struggling and told us the barrier wasn’t working and you had to ring.  We did that and got the barrier lifted.  We decided on a spot and right from the get-go we felt like gold fish in a gold fish bowl,  They made no attempt to hide that they were watching us. They all seemed to be French and no one even acknowledged us. Nor did anyone park beside us. Bit strange, first time we have ever had this feeling.  We broke out the bikes and cycled to town for a bit of a look.  We were trying to find a Le Post and a Pharmacy. We noticed a lovely beach with an enclosed lagoon that people seemed to be enjoying.  We got what we needed in town and rode back for our swimming gear and returned for a lovely few hours on the beach.  On the way back we pinged a carpark right at the town and close to the laundry.  We decided to get up in the morning and go to that car park and do some laundry.  We bought some croissants and had breakfast while the wash was on.  We also discovered another lovely part to the town. Also noticed a Camping Car aire right in town.  John tried to book in so we could stay and extra night, but desipte showing two places it wouldn’t let him book.  When the laundry was finished, we went back to the van.  On the way we noticed a rotisserie and bought a lovely, if expensive chicken for lunch.  We then walked back to the beach we visited yesterday for another lovely afternoon, albeit a little cooler than yesterday. We went back to the car park, had lunch while the water was on for a lovely shower.
Les Chenes Verts
We left La Faute-Sur-Mer quite late and the first aire we had chosen was full, just as well we had a few picked out.  So we ended up at Les Chenes Verts.  This was much better than the  first aire and was only ever going to be a quick stop over.  We were both tired from the days events and just had a bit to eat and watched and episode of Vera. We got up the next morning, did our services and were on our way.
Les Moutiers-en-Retz
Camping ANAS
Lorraine picked this lovely site at random, as we drove through the town it looked as if it had a bit of life about it.  The camp site had showers, toilets and an indoor swimming pool. It also had a number of chickens and a rooster or two that seemed to have free run of the place.
There was a lot of rain during the night and the wind blowing a gale. As it was raining in the morning we had a rather long lie in.  We decided to go to the swimming pool and then call into the showers on the way back to the van.  Lovely pool and we were just doing our usual when this lovely young girl started shouting directions, and the next thing we found ourselves part of an aqua aerobics class.  The words didn’t matter because she was able to get everyone doing what she wanted with actions from the side.  That was a bit of exercise al right.  We then did as planned and hit the showers on the way back to the van.  We made lunch and then both of us collapsed on the bed for an hour ( how could we possibly be tired).  John went up to the machine and booked another day.   In the afternoon we got the bikes out and rode to town.  We watched some guys windsurfing and parachute surfing, good entertainment. The wind was quite strong and sometimes lifted them out of the water.  Not that much in the wee town, but lorraine had an ice cream and John a coffee.
La Turballe
Something about this name, thought we had been here before.  Jim confirmed that we had, even had the date.  We stayed at a different Park up, but as soon as we walked into town, the memories all came back.  La Turballe is a lovely town, and it has a marina and a great beach. We had a wander around and Lorraine did a little present shopping.  We had a cup of tea and a plate of chips as we waited on the Pizzeria opening.  Although a little cooler it was nice to sit out back at the park up.  We went to bed and watched a couple of episodes of the Madame Blanc mysteries.  It rained most of the night. As rain was forecast we decided to make today a service day and drove to a Super U supermarket, walked into town to do some laundry, Brunch and some shopping for groceries.  Our next park up was only a few miles down the road so there was no hurry.
Piriac Sur Mur
This park was only a few miles down the coast from La Turballe.  It allowed access directly to the beach.  We had a little trouble getting level as the van was off on both axis.  We then went for a walk and when we saw the beach, returned to the van for our stuff.  It was cooler than we had be used to, but once in it was lovely.  We were able to lie on the beach and dry off.  For tea we had a local delicacy (not really) fish fingers and beans. Followed by tea and a bun from our shopping trip earlier.
Peaule
Lorraine spotted this free markup on park4night.  We followed google maps but spotted a nice spot for lunch on the way.  Not sure what happened but google didn’t take us exactly to our park up.  Reset the maps and we found the Aire as described.
We saw a beach on google maps but the car park had a height barrier.  So we decided to get up and go early and try and find somewhere to park.  Google was right there was a height barrier. But we did find a spot not to far from the beach to park parallel with the road.  Checked with the house opposite if we were ok to park there. We then mad breakfast and had a wee sleep, as you do,  Refreshed we made our way to the beach.  Going by the forecast you might not have gone, but it turned out to be lovely.  The tide was fully out so it was just a matter of waiting for it to come in a bit. We both had a lovely swim. John thought it might be cold but it turned out to be lovely.  We spent all day at the beach and found a supermarket to get a few supplies.  It may seem that we do a lot of beaches. The truth is that we love them and find them very relaxing, especially listening to the sea relentlessly crashing on the shore.  We say relaxing, but we always come back knackered.  We stopped at a lovely lay-by and made our tea.  We decided to try another free park not far from the one we stayed at last night, but it was full, so we just headed back to Peaule.
The following morning Lorraine made a lunch and we cycled to Le Guemo.  We could that there were spaces available so prospered the picnic and cycled back to the van and drove to Le Guam.  We think that there is some sort of festival on this Sunday, so should be interesting.
Le Guemo
We managed to get a good enough pitch at this Aire. Sat about in the afternoon and did some YouTube and reading.  Bit cooler to day, overcast but no rain.  This Aire is free but there is the opportunity do give a donation.  There are also clean toilets which is always welcome.  Lorraine was checking the diary today and it seems we only have one full week left.Time flyes when your enjoying yourself.
This is a lovely quaint village and there seems to be something organised for the Sunday.
We got up early on Sunday and had a shower. Then went to the church to see what’s happening.  Seemed to be some sort of religious procession, with music and traditional dancers.  We didn’t follow the procession but the square was all geared up for a sit down meal when they returned.
We got packed up and went over to do our services and were on our way to the next park up.
